Business Intelligence
We bring data together from across the systems a large organisation runs, so it can be used for decisions and for regulators without anyone having to correct it by hand first.
A scoped look at your sources, your data model and how your loads actually run. You get a written view of what is causing the problem and what it would take to fix it.

The Client’s Situation
When the report needs fixing every month
Data sits in different systems, on different technologies, built at different times by different teams. Bringing it into one usable shape means moving it, reconciling it and checking it. When that work is manual, it is slow, and it goes wrong.
The symptoms are consistent across the organisations we work with. A report that takes days to assemble and still needs correcting by hand before anyone will trust it. A daily load that finishes too late to be any use. Data quality problems that get patched, then return. A new source system that has to be absorbed, with no obvious way to do it without disturbing everything downstream. A data integration tool being decommissioned, and years of process built on it.
None of these is a reporting problem. They are all consequences of how the data arrives.

What changes when the data arrives properly
The point of the work is to remove the manual step. When acquisition and integration are designed properly, the same data serves operational use, management reporting and regulatory submission without being rebuilt each time for each audience.
No hands on it
Automated processing replaces manual assembly and correction, which removes both the delay and the error.
Problems found early
Quality issues surface through monitoring instead of being noticed when a number looks wrong.
One set of data, three audiences
The same data serves daily operations, management reporting and regulatory submission without being rebuilt for each.
Room for the next system
The architecture has headroom for more volume and for entities nobody has specified yet.
Cheaper to run
Fewer people spending less time keeping the flow moving.
What the work covers

1
Data integration
Moving data between systems reliably, and migrating integration processes from tools being retired.

2
Data architecture
Designing the structure that data moves through, and correcting structures that have outgrown their design.

3
Data quality reporting and maintenance
Monitoring quality continuously, and fixing causes rather than symptoms.

4
Regulatory reporting and compliance
Building the data foundation that reporting obligations depend on.

5
Data governance
Making it possible to see where data came from and where it goes across the organisation.
Turn your data into a competitive advantage.
Whether you’re trying to prove marketing performance, modernise enterprise reporting, or build a stronger data strategy, we’ll help you create analytics that deliver measurable business value.
We look at what is actually there first

We assess what exists
The sources in use, the technologies underneath them, the current architecture, and the data model. What works, what does not, and what people have quietly learned to live with.
We test whether it will hold
Does the model still fit its purpose? Will it take more volume, and new kinds of data, without being rebuilt? How much effort does it actually take to orchestrate the flows and keep the system running day to day?
We ask where it hurts
Pain points and requirements from across the business, including the specific ones that never make it into a formal brief. The people running the reports usually know exactly what is wrong.
We propose targeted change
Not a rebuild by default. Specific changes to specific parts of the architecture, aimed at making things faster, clearer, or cheaper to run, and we say which of those a given change actually buys you.
Every data architecture carries history. Decisions made under deadline, tools chosen for reasons that no longer apply, workarounds that became permanent. We start by understanding that history rather than proposing around it.

Why organisations bring us in
Start with a review, not a project
If reports are being corrected by hand, loads are finishing late, or a new source system needs absorbing, a scoped review will tell you why. You get a written view of the cause and the realistic options, including the option of doing nothing.

Can we get a daily load finished by 7am?
It depends on data volume, source system availability and how the dependencies are sequenced. What we can say is that the load window should be a design constraint from the start, not something you hope for afterwards. Where loads are finishing late, the cause is often sequencing or an inefficient step rather than raw volume, and that is usually fixable.
Can we track data quality daily rather than finding problems in a report?
Yes. Data quality reporting and monitoring is part of the work. The aim is that quality issues surface through monitoring before they reach a report, and that recurring problems get traced to their cause rather than corrected each month.
Do you have someone who understands our domain?
Our consultants have worked across risk, regulatory reporting, compliance, financial reporting, and customer and operational data. If we do not have depth in a particular area we will say so rather than send someone to learn on your project.
Can you expand our existing model to take in a new source system?
Yes. The work involves assessing whether the current model can absorb the new entities as it stands, or whether it needs extending first. We would rather tell you that before starting than halfway through.
We are decommissioning our data integration tool. Can you migrate the processes to a new one?
Yes. We work across Oracle Data Integrator and SQL Server Integration Services and have migrated integration processes between platforms. The scale of the job depends less on the number of processes than on how well the existing ones are documented and understood.
How long before we see something?
The assessment produces a written view of the problem and the options within weeks. Delivery timelines depend on what the assessment finds, and we would rather scope that properly than quote a figure before we have looked.
